STEP 2

Learn about the list of documents you need to submit to the Korean Consulate / Embassy in your country.

Visa Issuance Number

You will be informed of your visa issuance number from the Immigration Office in Korea. Once you get the number, you can go to Korean Consulate in your country to apply for an E2 visa.

Passport

You are required to submit your passport to the Korean Consulate. Once your visa process is done, you will finally get your passport back with your visa attached.

Visa Application Form

TOP ESL will provide the visa application form. Then you will print it out and fill out your information and submit the paper with your passport and visa issuance number information.

Checklist for E-2 Applicant

TOP ESL will provide the checklist form which you must complete and submit to the Korean Consulate.

Application Fee

Depending on which country you are from or living in, the application fee can be different. So please call the nearest Korean Consulate or ask us for more details.

It usually takes about 5 business days, but up to 2 weeks depending on the country and busy seasons.

No. Without the visa issuance number, you cannot apply for the working visa at a Korean Consulate. The visa issuance number is only issued by the Immigration Office in Korea to qualified applicants.

As soon as you get your visa, you can fly to Korea. Normally TOP ESL asks teachers to start searching for a flight ticket when we apply for their visa issuance number. Also, considering your work start date, we will let you know the best timing to start to search for your flight ticket. 

Your visa issuance number is valid for 3 months. So you can go to Korean Consulate anytime during that period. But I recommend you to go to Korean Consulate as soon as possible since the process can take more time than we expect. It’s better to get your visa first and wait for the date to fly to Korea.
